To Configure Modem D-Link 2730U

Requirements: One Computer System, one Modem, one Power Adapter for modem, one ADSL Splitter, one LAN cable & RJ45 connector, three phone cables and three RJ11 connectors and other Took Kits.

Note: Arrange a telephone system/intercom (if required for testing of phone/data line connectivity or dial tone).

1. Connect your PC with Modem vi LAN cable (use strate cable).
2. Connect power adapter with the Modem.
3. Connect phone line (DSL) cable with the Modem.
4. Make sure you have a telephone system/intercom/Phone device & ADSL splitter.

5. Put the ADSL splitter on your hand and connect one phone cable with intercom to Phone port of the splitter

6. Connect one phone cable with Modem to ADSL Modem port of the splitter.

7. Connect the LAN cable with Modem to your computer system.

8. Now check all connectivity/device then power ON the Modem as well the computer system.

9.  Go to any internet browser and enter the default IP address which is printed behind of the modem. Example: 192.168.1.1

Note: If the modem already have a local IP Address, then enter that local IP Address on the internet browser but before entering the IP, make sure your computer system should have a same class of IP Address. Example: if the Modem has an IP- 192.168.39.5, then the computer system's IP Must be a class of C example: 192.168.39.29  

If the modem have an IP Address and you do not know what is that, then go to you modem & press the Reset button of the modem which is locate behind the Modem. (For reset the modem, you should have a pin). 

In this case, you must change the IP address of you system i.e. Default IP Address. To do this open you Local Area Connection> go to Properties> Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)> Properties> Click on> Obtain an IP address automatically>Click on Obtain DNS server address automatically then click on OK button.

10. Now enter the confirmed IP Address on internet browser and press Enter Key. Your Modem D-Link 2730U will be on LAN connection.

11. Here enter the username & Password which is given by the service provider or already you have. If  you have not the username & password to Login into the Modem, kindly enter default username & password i.e. admin, admin.

12. After login into the modem, go to Internet Setup and click on Add button to add the setup.

13. Here under Connection Type category, choose Protocol> PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE).

14. Go to PPP USERNAME AND PASSWORD category, enter PPP Username: in1201234567_ncdr and PPP Password: 123456

15. Enter the username & password carefully which is given by the service provider. BSNL, AirTel and other service providers will give the username and password accordingly.

16. Now click on Apply button and go to Setup option which will locate on upper side.

17. Here under INTERNET INFO you can see the Internet Connection Status: Connected. It means you are connected vi internet. Now enter www.google.com in the address bar of the internet browser and check the internet status. As you get the net you should logout from the modem, to do this simply click on Logout button two times.
